Zimbabwean Athletes Shine at World Athletics Championships in Tokyo


 Zimbabwean athletes made a significant impact at the World Athletics Championships which are held in Tokyo Japan, with standout performances in both sprinting and long-distance events.

Tapiwanashe Makarawu and Makanakaishe Charamba have both advanced to the semi-finals of the men’s 200m race.

 Makarawu showcased his speed by winning Heat 2 in an impressive time of 19.91 seconds.

 Charamba followed closely, finishing second in Heat 5 with a personal best of 20.06 seconds.

In the marathon, Isaac Mpofu delivered a remarkable performance, completing the race in 2:10:46and finishing in 10th place overall. 

He finished just 58 seconds behind the winner, demonstrating his competitiveness among the world's elite long-distance runners.

The accomplishments of this trio reflect the growing talent in Zimbabwean athletics, raising hopes for potential medals in the upcoming events.
